PRESIDENT NATHAN HOSTS RECEPTION FOR DEFENCE PERSONNEL

More than 800 personnel from the Ministry of Defence (MINDEF), the Singapore Armed Forces (SAF), and the Defence Science & Technology Agency (DSTA) attended the Presidential Garden Reception at the Istana on 13 Jul.

This annual event is hosted by the President in recognition of their contributions to the defence of Singapore.

President S R Nathan interacted with senior MINDEF, SAF and DSTA officials, active servicemen and Operationally Ready National Servicemen (NSmen).

Also present were the winners of the NSmen of the Year award.

Minister for Defence Teo Chee Hean and Minister for Education and Second Minister for Defence Ng Eng Hen also attended the reception.
