FOREIGN DEFENCE AND MILITARY OFFICIALS CALL ON MINDEF MINISTERS

Foreign defence and military officials called on Minister for Defence Teo Chee Hean and Minister for Manpower and Second Minister for Defence Dr Ng Eng Hen at the Ministry of Defence on 20 Feb.

They were: Under Secretaries of Defence Cecillio Lorenzo and Antonio Santos Jr from the Philippines; Chief of Air Force AM Geoffry Shepherd from Australia; Minister of State for Defence Zahid Hamid from Pakistan, accompanied by Chief of Air Staff ACM Kaleem Sadaat and Additional Secretary for Minister for Defence ACM Maqbool Ali Shah; Commander, Royal Brunei Land Forces COL Rosli Chuchu; Commander, Qatar Emiri Air Force BG Mubarak Mohammad Al-Khayarin; Secretary of Defence Graham Fortune and Chief of Defence Force AM Bruce Ferguson from New Zealand; Commander, Royal Brunei Armed Forces MG Halbi Yussof, accompanied by Commander, Royal Brunei Air Force COL Mahmud Saidin; Commander Pacific Air Force GEN Paul Hester; Chief of Air Staff ACM Shashindra Pal Tyagi from India; Chief of Defence Force ADM Anwar Nor from Malaysia, accompanied by Chief of Army GEN Abdul Aziz Zainal; Chief of Lao People's Air Force COL Khamphone Sivixay; and Commissioner of Defence Acquisition Program Administration Kim Jung Il from South Korea.

They were all in Singapore to attend the Asian Aerospace 2006 exhibition.

Some officials also attended the Asia Pacific Security Conference (APSEC), the C4I Asia Conference and the Land Defence Conference, all on 20 Feb, held in conjunction with Asian Aerospace 2006.
