Minister for Manpower and Second Minister for Defence, Dr Ng Eng Hen, visited Changi Naval Base on 26 Sep.

This visit was part of a series of introductory visits to Singapore Armed Forces (SAF) units for Dr Ng to familiarise himself with the operations and capabilities of the SAF.

Throughout the afternoon, Dr Ng visited several ships, including RSS Chieftain, a submarine of the Republic of Singapore Navy (RSN).

The minister also toured the Unmanned Surface Vessel (USV) dock where he saw a demonstration of the capabilities of the Protector USV.

His visit to Changi Naval Base, which was hosted by Chief of Navy Rear Admiral Ronnie Tay, ended with a 'Meet the People' session at the Fleet Command Building.

The visit gave the minister a deeper insight into the operational capability of the RSN.
