The Vietnam People's Army Chief of General Staff and Vice-Minister of National Defence, Colonel-General (COL-GEN) Nguyen Khac Nghien, called on Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Defence Teo Chee Hean at the Ministry of Defence on 20 Jul.
COL-GEN Nghien also called on Chief of Defence Force Lieutenant-General Neo Kian Hong and visited the Singapore Armed Forces Underground Ammunition Facility as well as Changi Naval Base.
As part of his introductory visit to Singapore from 19 to 22 Jul, COL-GEN Nghien will call on Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong at the Istana on the last day of his visit.
COL-GEN Nghien's visit underscores the warm and growing bilateral defence relations between Singapore and Vietnam. This commitment towards enhancing bilateral ties through closer defence cooperation was reflected in the Defence Cooperation Agreement, which both countries signed in September last year.
