US COMMANDER IN S'PORE FOR INTRODUCTORY VISIT

Admiral (ADM) William Fallon, Commander of the United States Pacific Command (PACOM), is in Singapore for an introductory visit from 14 to 15 Nov.

He called on Minister for Defence Teo Chee Hean and Chief of Defence Force Lieutenant-General Ng Yat Chung at the Ministry of Defence (MINDEF) on 14 Nov.

ADM Fallon will also call on Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong and Senior Minister Goh Chok Tong at the Istana.

ADM Fallon's visit underscores the excellent defence relationship between Singapore and the United States.

The Singapore Armed Forces and PACOM interact extensively through visits, bilateral and multilateral exercises and other professional exchanges.
