GERMAN DEFENCE OFFICIAL VISITS SINGAPORE

German State Secretary for Defence Peter Eickenboom is in Singapore from 21 to 22 Aug to co-chair the third Germany-Singapore Defence Policy Dialogue together with Permanent Secretary for Defence Chiang Chie Foo.

Since 2004, these Policy Dialogues have matured into a regular platform for both countries to discuss cooperation and strategic developments of mutual interest.

Dr Eickenboom's visit reflects the good defence relationship between Singapore and Germany.

Both countries concluded a bilateral Defence Cooperation Agreement in 2005, and interact through regular high-level defence visits, military courses, professional exchanges, as well as defence technology cooperation.
