On 19 Jul, Chief of Defence Force (CDF) Lieutenant-General (LG) Ng Chee Meng visited the National Day Parade (NDP) participants from the various organisations and schools prior to the second National Education Show that day.

Representing the National Police Cadet Corps (NPCC) contingent, Honorary Inspector Cassandra Chew from Bowen Secondary School said she was glad that CDF came by to engage the participants because it helped to boost their morale. She added: "Through the interaction session with CDF, we also got to know that he used to be from the NPCC and we now have a greater sense of pride knowing that we belong to the same uniform group as CDF."

Noting that the participants have been practicing and training very hard to put up a good show on 9 Aug, CDF took the opportunity to thank them for their dedication and hard work. Heartened to see the vibrancy displayed by the participants during his interaction session, CDF said the involvement and enthusiasm displayed by them showed that Singapore has a very bright future ahead.

A few of the participants also took the opportunity to take selfies with CDF. Fifteen-year old Muhammad Yurhan bin Yusni from Changkat Changi Secondary School, who was part of the National Civil Defence Cadet Corps contingent, said: "I had requested for a selfie with CDF to make my NDP experience even more memorable. I was really caught off guard when he agreed".

Wishing everyone a Happy National Day!
