The Commander of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF), Major-General (MG) Haji Aminuddin Ihsan bin Pehin Orang Kaya Saiful Mulok Dato Seri Paduka Haji Abidin, was conferred Singapore's prestigious military award, the Pingat Jasa Gemilang (Tentera) or Meritorious Service Medal (Military), by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Defence Teo Chee Hean at an investiture held at the Ministry of Defence on 9 Jun.

MG Aminuddin, who was Commander of the Royal Brunei Land Force in his previous appointment, received the medal in recognition of his significant contributions in forging closer bilateral ties between the armies of Brunei and Singapore.

Under MG Aminuddin, the interactions and cooperation between the two armies have grown from strength to strength. Both armies engage regularly in bilateral exercises and professional exchanges. These extensive interactions strengthen the rapport and understanding between the personnel of both armies.

In Singapore for an introductory visit from 8 to 10 Jun, MG Aminuddin called on Mr Teo and Chief of Defence Force MG Neo Kian Hong before the investiture. He will be visiting the Murai Urban Training Facility and the Information Fusion Centre at the Changi Command and Control Centre on 10 Jun.
